Tsavorite

Tsavorite (Green Garnet) is desired for its vivid radiant green.  Its color ranges from a new spring green to an intense blue-green to deep forest green.  These colors have a refreshing and invigorating effect on the senses. 

This gemstone is also valued for its great brilliance.  Old legends used to say a garnet was a hard thing to hide - its sparkling light was said to remain visible even through clothing.
 
It is rare to find a raw crystal of over 5 carats, but that is one of the special features of this gemstone: that it can display great luminosity even in small sizes.
